THE TASMANIA FLUORIDATION SAGA
The great Australian
scientific dental fluoridation advertisement and endorsement of fluoride
safety and efficiency started in Tasmania 1953 and its claimed success
declared ad nauseum in Media, Dental, Medical and Political fluoridation
propaganda throughout Australia.
The Australian pride of
fluoridation success is Tasmania where almost 100% of the population have
been drinking fluoridated water for 48 years.
We published a "Stop Press"
in Australian Fluoridation News May-June 2001, on the acute shortage of
dentists, and the A.D.A. warning, "The State (Tasmania) is on the brink
of a dental crisis".
We presented data in our
"News" Nov-Dec 1996 issue on the shortage of dentists in Tasmania, the place
where fluoridation removed dental decay in young and old and dentists are
unnecessary.
Just imagine the sight, a
photo published, Advocate 31st May, 2001, of an elderly man walking the
streets of Wynyard, Tasmania, collecting signatures on a petition to the
Tasmanian Government over his concern for public dental treatment, and of
course Tasmanian dental health.
He is quoted as saying,
"Particularly some young people have some bad dental problems."
The Tasmanian Royal
Commission into Fluoridation 1968, the bible of fluoridation in Tasmania,
reported:
"Fluoride is an
essential element (for humans). The effect of the fluoride ion when
incorporated into teeth is to enhance calcification, to provide stronger
and more resistant enamel and favourably to influence the shape, structure
and appearance of the teeth."
"That "scientific" (?)
promise has failed, and fluoride is NOT an essential element for humans.
Perhaps the most
interesting statement by the Commission is on page 239 of their Report:
"Fluoridation of
communal water supplies has inescapable consequences for all members of
the community (of Tasmania)."
A small but important
statement by the Royal Commission.
"However, there is a
strong probability that other physiological benefits will come to be
confirmed in relation to osteoporosis and calcification of the aorta."
(1) The benefit of
fluoridation will lessen the prevalence of caries among 12-14 year-old
children by a figure "which will approximate 60%."
(2) Then came the warning
that "probably up to 10% of young children will be affected by dental
fluorosis or mottling due to variable water intake." (p.237)
The first (1)
promise is false but the second (2) is partly correct except the
percentage of mottled teeth has increased dramatically.
The sum total of 48
years of fluoridation in Tasmania is:- increased dental decay, lack of
dentists and more mottled teeth, but the Government seems quite happy with
their Fluoridation Act of Compulsory mass medication.
It was reported 1993,
the Tasmanian Government "found the State has the highest proportion of
toothless people in Australia - 19%."
Some proof of the
failure of fluoridation after 48 years experimenting on the Tasmanian
people.
Please pause, just for a
moment.
Why do politicians follow
and protect such a dubious scientific medical procedure that has no
qualification anywhere in the scientific world as proven safe and effective?
When you have the answer,
direct from politicians, please advise the Australian Fluoridation News.
We will be pleased to publish such an important reason for compulsory
artificial fluoridation.
